June 14
The
weather couldn't have been better with a light breeze and temperatures
in the low 80s. The Fullers wanted to walk up the mountain so we let
them do just that - without us. Pat & I walked across the river
bridge at the train station and wandered the streets of the city on that
side. The architecture all around Spain is varied, intricate and very
interesting. We eventually reached the surfing beach and it was packed
due to the fine weather. We went back across the river, explored the
fish & meat market and had a pintxos lunch. There is such a variety
of pintxos that it's impossible to try them all in less than a few
visits and all that we tried were delicious. We then took a leisurely
stroll back to the hotel and, eventually, Sue knocked on our door and
said they were going to the beach. We met them at the beach a few
minutes later and the Fullers all went in for a swim, but we declined to
get so frozen, so we took pictures. Will is just 15 and this was the
first time he had been to a beach where a good portion of the women,
both young & old, are topless. We couldn't get him to comment on
what he thought. Later we returned to the restaurant where we ate the
previous night, had another good menu meal and went back to bed because
of an early departure the next morning.
