We anchored off the old city of Dubrovnik, Croatia about 8:00am under clear skies. We took a walking tour of the old city walls which surround the entire old city and are quite steep in many areas. We began with a bus ride above the city for a scenic view and then descended to the port area again to make our walk. The excursion lasted 1 1/2 hours and was very strenuous. Of the 27 of us who started, only 6 of us finished the entire walk. The temperature and humidity were both in the upper 90s and there was no shade or breeze so we were quite exhausted by the time we finished. The city is a fascinating place to visit and is on a peninsula on the Adriatic Sea. The views were exceptional. There are numerous restaurants and shops all over the place and it's a fun place to visit. Since we'll be back here in October we decided we'll do more exploring of the city then when the temperature will be moderate and the city won't be overflowing with tourists. Being hot & tired may also have contributed to our decision to return to the ship a little past noon. At 3:00 we set sail and from 5:30 to around 7:30 we sailed through the fjord area and into beautiful Kotor Montenegro. Since we were overnighting here there was a big pool deck buffet & dance.
