June 5
A cold front came in with high winds and temperatures in the mid 40s.  We walked to the Old Town hoping to take a castle tour, but it was filled and it was too cold to do a 4 hour walking tour.  On the way into town we came across a park where there was a small mockup of a concentration camp and posters & audio told of the 1942 assassination of Oberguppenfuher Reinhard Heydrich, Reich main security Office and governor of Occupied Czechoslovakia.  The retribution was to totally destroy a village by burning it to the ground, shooting all men over age 16, sending the women to work or concentration camps, putting Ayrian (blonde & blue eyed) children with German families and gassing the rest.  Heil Hitler.  It was an interesting exhibition.  We got into old town, had a sausage and beer and explored some more of the city.  We took a different route back to the hotel by mid afternoon because it was too cold to linger more.  That evening, close to the hotel, we found an interesting restaurant to try and it was good.  We had beef tartare which was chopped instead of ground and it was excellent.  The veal cutlet was like a veal NY strip steak and delicious.
