June 7 & 8
The cold front left Prague and, unfortunately, so did we. It was shirtsleeve weather as we drove to the airport and was hot & humid in Barcelona when we arrived. We've been to Barcelona several times in the past but came here this time because we're meeting Pat's daughter Susan and family for a few days. Susan has been in Majorca for business meetings and we agreed to meet here. We were on our own Thursday night and wandered Las Ramblas to see the funny tourists and ate at a tapas bar next to our hotel for dinner.
Friday morning we wandered around the area with several buildings designed by Gaudi, got a bit lost heading to the marina area but found it, had a great seafood lunch in the marina area and got back to the hotel just as Susan arrived from the airport. Her husband Jeff & son will arrive from Florida tomorrow. We showed Susan around some of the area, took a break and headed out for
the evening. We ended up in a tapas bar for dinner, had another wine
and a couple of tapas next to the hotel and finished for the night at a
civilized time.
